Therapy For All Disabilities State-by-State

All 50 states require insurance to cover therapies for individuals with autism, as shown on the map in blue. Only 3 states (New Jersey, Maryland, and Missouri) currently extend coverage to other disabilities. These therapies are medically necessary and crucial to the development of children with disabilities. Learn more about Therapy for All and why it needs to be law in every state.

Parents, providers, and advocates are starting to organize in other states. Click on your state or the state's name below to learn more about the Disability Empowerment group working to expand insurance coverage in your state. If your state is blue, there is not currently a Disability Empowerment advocacy group in the state. We are just beginning organize nationwide and need people willing to step up and start a Therapy for All push in their state. Contact us to learn more about starting an advocacy group or linking an existing advocacy group to Disability Empowerment. Missouri Disability Empowerment has created a web page explaining how it began the legislative effort to get therapy for all in Missouri.
